learning water start

Hi everybody,

I started windsurfing 2 mounts ago at the Garda Lake.
Windsurfing is really a wonderful sport!

While I was doing lessons the last thing I tried was the water start.
It really looks complex to me..

I always have my sails in the water and I really have difficulties putting it into the wind..

Does someone of you professional windsurfers has some advices for me?

hi lucanavaz,

Water start is one of the hardest moves to learn for a beginner. So.. it's perfectly normal having problems in it.

I suggest you to pull your sails from the top of your mast. This should make it easier.

I also suggest you to try in the low water. You will get tired later being able to practice more time.

Keep in mind: always let the wind do the hard work!
Not yourself. You must concentrate in getting the wind taking your sail up from the water.
